Who we are
HydraHound is published by Hankin Digital, based in England. You can contact us at hydrahound@hankin.digital.
This Privacy Policy explains how HydraHound handles information relating to you. The short answer is that it does not send your data to us, but the detail is below.
Data we do not collect
HydraHound does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on external servers:
- Your name, email address, or any contact details
- Your drink logs or hydration history
- Your reminder schedule or preferences
- Your Beast Mode credit balance or transaction ledger
- Your location
- Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioural data
There are no HydraHound-operated servers and no account system. There is nowhere for this information to be sent.
Local storage
All data created by HydraHound, including drink logs, settings, reminder state, lost-day records, and if enabled, the Beast Mode credit ledger, is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
This data lives in your device's app sandbox and is protected by iOS's standard security model. Deleting the app from your device permanently deletes local app data that is not otherwise preserved by your own device backup systems.
Apple Health
HydraHound can optionally write your drink logs to Apple Health. This is off by default and requires your explicit permission.
HydraHound reads no data from Apple Health. It writes only the drink logs you create within the app.
You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Health > HydraHound.
Notifications
HydraHound's core function is sending local notifications to your device. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on-device by iOS. They are not routed through any HydraHound server.
Notification content is generated either from a built-in copy library or, on supported devices, by Apple Intelligence. Either way, the content stays on your device.
Apple Intelligence
On devices that support it, HydraHound can use Apple Intelligence to generate varied notification copy. Apple Intelligence processes this entirely on-device. No data is sent to Apple's servers or to any third-party AI service to generate these messages.
If your device does not support Apple Intelligence, HydraHound falls back to its built-in copy library. Both paths keep your data local.
Subscriptions and payments
HydraHound subscriptions and the optional Beast Mode credit pack are managed through Apple and your Apple ID. Apple handles payment processing. HydraHound never receives, sees, or stores your payment details, billing address, or financial account information.

Third-party services
HydraHound uses no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking libraries of any kind. There is no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Facebook SDK, and no similar service embedded in the app.
The only external frameworks involved are Apple's own system frameworks, such as StoreKit, HealthKit, SwiftData, and Apple Intelligence where available.
Children's privacy
HydraHound is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Given that HydraHound collects no personal data on external systems, there is ordinarily no server-side data to access or delete.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection law, you may have rights including the right to access, correct, and delete personal data.
Because HydraHound does not hold personal data about you on any server, there is ordinarily nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on our end. Your data exists only on your own device and is largely under your control.
Changes to this policy
If we change how HydraHound handles data, we will update this policy and the last updated date at the top of this page. For any material changes, we will endeavour to notify you within the app.
